In this article we ask Justina the advantages of training in Central London.

Advantages of a female personal trainer in Central London over a male one.

Female personal trainer or male personal trainer...? I guess there is no correct answer. But I can tell you there’s a few advantages of training with a woman personal trainer which I heard over the years from my clients. First of all - we are good listeners! I hear it again and again - I came to you, because I'm tired of my male trainer trying to turn me into Hulk! I just wanna be toned and fit. Second - most of the ladies prefer to train with lady personal trainer, because they just feel more comfortable. Doing certain exercises you can find yourself in odd position, which ladies prefer not to be seen by guys. Third - I find female personal trainers to be more flexible with traveling to clients houses. Most of male personal trainers just sticks with heavy weights training, which is very difficult to do at clients houses unless they have equips private gym.

What is it about central London that you like the most in terms of fitness and training?

I love working in central London because you can reach everything within walking distance. I love walking, my average mileage is around 12 miles a days. I have clients in Knightsbridge, Belgravia, Fitzrovia, Marylebone, Soho, Kensington and Notting Hill Gate. And almost all areas has a park nearby. Hyde park, Regents park, Belgravia square and much more. Central London is full of amazing places to train, run, swim and play.

Is there a park nearby you like to train in?

All central London parks are very well maintained which makes training even more enjoyable. My favourite parks are private parks - little squares, which usually have outdoor gym, tennis courts and running tracks. There is always very peaceful and tidy 🙂

Why would someone want to train at the park as opposed to the comfort of being in their own home?

I could answer this question in one word - AIR! There is nothing more pleasant then to get out of the house and smell fresh grass, breath in all oxygen from the trees. Also working out in fresh air assures a much greater calorie burn. I have a lot of people who is working in an office all day and all they want is to get dirty and wet, be part of the nature!

What’s good about this particular park and what fitness training programme do you see yourself doing with the client here.

You can do any type of training in the park. It depends on personal trainer. I do a lots of body weight stuff as well as agility, strength, core, plyometrics, flexibility stuff. The advantage of parks is space, which you usually can't get in doors.

How about streets and/or urban areas. Can people expect to also take advantage of those in terms of exercising as well?

Central London streets are very crowded during the day and evening. My favourite is Oxford street at 6 am in the morning. It looks like a completely different place. Streets are empty, road sare clear, what a perfect place to exercise! If you are early riser central London streets can be owned by you! Urban areas as Southbank or Shoreditch or back streets of Camden Town why not? It all depends on personality and needs.

Indoors / at home - anything in particular the potential client should know about?

I think the most import thing is to get to know personal trainer before you invite her or him into your house. Always read recommendations and follow all social media, do some research on Google. All the rest your personal trainer will take care of. Equipment should not be your problem. Mobile personal trainers are usually equipped.

Any gym nearby you recommend? Would you train with a client there?

I'm currently training people in easyGym in Oxford street. It's very good value for money, because you can find all equipment you need and much more. One day I want to have my own studio within the Kensington area.

Groups and duos as opposed to one to ones. What are the advantages this area offers to them when it comes to training with you?

Especially in Central London I'm getting a lots of requests for small group training. The great thing about it is that it's usually coworkers so they can come at the same time and also motivate whole office. Couples training is also very popular. Couples like to be trained in their local parks like Hyde park or Regent's Park. Especially Hyde park has amazing atmosphere to train in. A lot of people running, jogging, boxing and boot camping. Great spirit, I'm loving it 🙂
