How would you describe Westminster area?
Westminster is located between the West End of London and Kensington. It is full of office buildings, shopping centres and rushing people. Westminster has a great night life. People living here are super fit and trendy, having a personal trainer is quite usual.
What are the most popular places to train in Westminster?
Westminster is full of large parks and open spaces where you can find calm and peaceful training spots – Green Park, Vincent Square, Victoria Tower Gardens, ST John’s Gardens, St James Park. The best thing is that there is no extra cost to train there, but there are a lot of extra benefits – fresh air, calmness and beautiful surroundings.
What other training options are there?
You can find a lot of chain gyms and private training studios in Westminster area. Most of my clients from this area prefer training in their homes or offices.
If the weather is nice, I always encourage my clients to train outdoors – the view and surroundings in Westminster are simply fabulous! Another good place to train is along the river Thames (Westminster pier to Embankment pier) – you can run, jog or spring feeling a nice breeze and exploring a beautiful view.
What are the newest training trends in Westminster?
Clients in Westminster enjoy trying out new training techniques, especially functional training. As a personal trainer, I like introducing my clients with fitness fundamentals, human anatomy and trending training techniques. I’m constantly updating my skills and knowledge and enjoy sharing it with people.
Maybe you have any courses planned this year?
Yes and I am super excited about it! I have a new course coming: “Strength and Conditioning. Phase 1” in Brunel University this March. I’m going to learn techniques used for training Olympic athletes and Olympic lifting, including clean and jerk.
What about group workouts? Are they popular in Westminster?
There are so many nice parks and lots of space in Westminster which is why group workouts are very popular here. You can enjoy a company of a friend or colleague while training and not feel cramped. The most popular place for group workouts is Green Park – very easy to get to and lots of quiet places to train in.
What areas outside Westminster would you recommend?
Personally, I would recommend Southwark – right across Waterloo or Westminster Bridge. This area is full of parks, including Jubilee gardens and Archbishop’s Park. Also, there are lots of nice places with a beautiful view for running and fast walking.
